Note that videos will not get their date values fixed The script now works on videos too thanks to Mr.Sheep (Github code has been updated with the new code). From here run python fix_exif.pyto fill in all the EXIF date taken values.Open a terminal view where you can run python and navigate to the folder containing your images and the script. When the zip-file is downloaded, open it and move the file called “fix_exif.py” into the folder containing your images.Go to this link and click on the green button saying “clone or download”, then click “Download ZIP”.This will probably be all images that you have recovered from the backup storage. Download the images that are missing the date information.Run pip install piexif to install the require library for editing EXIF image fields.Install Python if you don’t have it installed already (Anaconda is recommended for Windows).I do not guarantee that this works correctly, so double check that things look right before moving stuff around) (NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR PHOTOS. I will give the quick solution first and then I will go into the details afterwards: Therefore, I reverted to creating a Python script instead and which requires some technical knowledge to get the solution running (and which will not be covered here). I tried creating a script that could run purely in the browser, but ran into some problems. We can modify the EXIF data of the photos by running a simple script. Note: This is not the case for iOS as it uses random characters as file names when storing photos and therefore the date cannot be recovered. But at least this gives us enough information to restore the photos so that we can get them to show up in the right order (with daily resolution). Now, sadly, the file name only contains the date and not the timestamp of when the image was sent. So I started looking into it and found that the date information is stored in the file name. When you view an photo in WhatsApp you can actually see when the photo is sent, meaning the information has to be stored somewhere. Until that happens our best option is to estimate the date taken based on the only reliable data we have, which is the time that the message was sent. The only real solution to this issue is to convince WhatsApp to change how the app works, something I see as rather unlikely to happen in the near future. Luckily, there is a solution (kinda)! There is no way to truly recover the date taken because WhatsApp strips all EXIF data before the photo is sent and this information is lost forever - assuming that you do not have access to the original photo. Please do not hesitate to leave a comment if you find it useful or if there should be any issues. Works for both images and videos (Android only, sorry iOS □ - see comments below). Check out BATCHIFIER if you just want a simple and easy way to fix your images without having to deal with Python and all that. UPDATE: I have finally completed the web app that I briefly mentioned below. Sadly, the app removes all EXIF data that could give any indication of when the photos are taken and this is causing a lot of issues for those of us who backup our photos to the cloud. WhatsApp is also known for optimizing their app to the extreme and most likely this is an attempt to save some kb of memory. I am not exactly sure why WhatsApp is doing this, some people have mentioned privacy as a reason (it’s most likely privacy reasons). In this post I will explain how you can at least partially fix this problem. If you are a user of WhatsApp on Android and have gotten a new phone recently, you might have noticed that when recovering the WhatsApp backup all the file metadata is gone! This can be extremely annoying if you, like me, backup your photos to Google Photos or some other cloud service, since it messes up the order that the images are shown in the application. In order to have 32 I/O pins we will use four shift registers (74HC595) as showed in the schematic. The IOExtension module is based on four shift registers (74HC595) to provide 16 Digital Inputs and 16 Digital Outputs, you will need only four pins in your Dev Board to control the module, plus the Vcc and the Gnd pins. I’m just explaining how the shift register operates but, we’ll not do all this work because we gonna use the Arduino SPI library to control the whole thing and don’t forget that you will have a library to control the module, just a last information about the shift register it has 8 parallel outputs (Q0-Q7) and one serial output (Q7') for cascading. You can find more details about this integrated circuit in its Datasheet. This way the register will update the (parallel outputs). The last step is setting the latch pin high. The next step is sending the data bit by bit serially, by pulsing the clock pin and sending each byte of new data out the data pin.The first step consist on storing the data in the storage register and to do so we need set latch pin to LOW to disable the outputs, this way the output pins won't change as we are sending in new data to the 74HC595.The circuit provides three interfacing pins which are the SHIFT_CLOCK (SH_CP), the LATCH_CLOCK (ST_CP) and the Data pin (DS).You can order 5 pics of 74HC595 online for less than 6$ : Amazon order link. The use of this circuit is so handy and a great hands-on approach of the multiplexing an efficient technique for controlling many components wired together. We can find a lot of hardware and circuits based on this kind of shift registers like the Adafruit motor shield, 7 segment module. This integrated circuit is inherently digital, like the digital pins on the Arduino it means that they can only read or write HIGH or LOW logic levels, they should not be used to read data from analog sensors or potentiometers. Therefore researcherswill design a tool, namely a camera system and security for charity boxes based on the internet of things and telegrams. The Hardware part is so simple and based on the 74HC595 shift register, it is an easy and inexpensive way to increase the number of digital I/O pins on your Dev board. So, looking at the source of the problem and technological developments ashappened before, it is very appropriate to use them to reduce the rampant theft in mosques. sounds like an alarm for Telegram to alert the Mosque management in the event ofthe forced destruction of the charity box. By using a microcontroller as an auxiliary component to monitor valuables. This microcontroller control system can be used to secure charity box funds in any mosque equipped with a securityfeature based on Selenoid door locks that can only be opened by ESP 32-CAM and using a vibration sensor will detectshocks and a buzzer will sound. The theft of charity box funds is an interesting topic for some people and the mosque manager personallyin particular, considering that charity box funds are general funds intended for the renovation or purchase of mosqueneeds and the needs of religious events. Theft in a place of worship is a crime by stealing things that are not privately owned but public propertywithout permission and these activities are carried out from religious places such as mosques, churches andmonasteries. When soil moisture is reduced to a predetermined value, the system will order the plants to be watered automatically, and when the water level is almost completely reduced, the ultrasonic sensor will send a notification to the mobile application to let the user know, after testing the system, it was found that the smart plant pot can work efficiently and can automatically water the plants. With the advancement of internet of things ( IoT ) technology, used to control devices wirelessly, this research developed the smart flowerpot system that works through mobile and web applications, using a microcontroller to control the system and connect to users via mobile and web application that can monitor the system, and control the operation both directly and automatically. Cultivation of ornamental plants in the office is popular among office workers and the general public because it can create a good environment in the area, but the plant growers must pay attention to watering the plants, because it may cause the plant to die. We have over 25 years' worth of ideas, befitting every occasion in the outdoors. Choose a day, invite a small group of friends and family members over ( COVID-guidelines permitting), and get ready to enjoy a safe, socially-distant afternoon in the open air. When the weather shifts to warm and breezy, the earth is green again, and the outdoors beckon to us from our indoor dwellings, you have the perfect excuse to throw an intimate garden party. Little Mary Lennox wasn't the only one enchanted by the idea of a secret garden. Fortunately, some specialty dog breeds are mixed to look like puppies throughout their entire lives-and they are sure to melt your heart the second you lay your eyes on them. Small dogs are also great for families with young children or those of senior age who are best matched with a breed they can physically handle. Maybe you have a small apartment or just want a canine companion that you can easily carry along with you anywhere you go. You may want a forever puppy if you are used to smaller animals. There are some breeds that stay small in size even when they're fully grown. But not all dogs are destined to become giants. Some breeds, like the Old English Sheepdog or Great Dane, will grow to become larger in size than most people. And yet, like any pet, puppies grow up and turn into dogs. We fall in love with their big eyes, little button noses, fluffy tails, and clumsy paws. As always, we encourage consumers to perform their own research, to the extent possible, before hiring any business.9 Dog Breeds That Look Like Puppies Even When They're Fully Grown Puppies are irresistible. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. A+!"Ĭriminal Background Check Who does HomeAdvisor background check? Arrived on time, worked diligently and charged me what had been quoted to me (no unexpected additional costs or extra charges). David kept me informed by text messages and provided excellent work at a reasonable price (their quote was half the cost of another lawn care service). I was so impressed with their work that I have asked them to be my regular yard care provider. My brother who was next door commented to me how hard Evans crew had worked while I was gone and was more impressed that it was without supervision. Honestly, my yard was so clean that I barely recognized it when I pulled into my driveway. David and his crew worked while I was away and were finishing the job as I was returning home (about 6 hours). My house is in a heavily wooded area with a big yard and an enormous amount of fallen leaves. They did everything I asked and then some. David and his crew were super nice, hard workers and a truly professional and knowledgeable group of guys. "Evans Lawn & Landscape is a great company to provide lawn services and yard care. It worked out well for the story and you somehow never knew what he would do next. He's just evil, no trauma or explanation needed, and it’s just great to watch. In Woo also always managed to be one step ahead of the other characters, and while it did feel a bit repetitive (and very annoying towards the end, but in a good way), that I still found myself very enthralled and excited about each new episode. You have a hunch about where this is going, but still the drama is so cleverly absurd that you do have a hard time guessing what will happen next. They never make you guess too much, not even with who the real psychopath is that makes us just in on the joke. There was such a nice mix going on there, one that I didn’t think would work as well as they did. There is always some twist to every aspect of the story, and the comedy interrupts the tension a lot of the time and vice versa. But the story always seems to flow well between those different genres the show has all mixed up in there. I expected the more serious side of the show to take over at some point, for the comedy to sort of step aside as the story got bleaker. It makes Psychopath Diary become unlike other kdramas I have seen before. There is a very nice balance between the comedy, the absurd and then the more thriller aspect of the show, which makes it stand out. It more so just has a lot of fun with them. I didn’t feel like the drama thread a lot of new ways with some of the tropes it used, or dives too deeply into them. The tone of the story is rather slice of life some places, but achieves those more dramatic moments when it needs to, humor is on the black side and takes advantage of how ridiculous everything is around what I appreciated and it always managed to blend it, thrill and more the mundane story of the characters we meet along the way. The show always seemed to be very aware of itself and what it was trying to do and just very comfortable with its absurdity. The story is just as crazy as it sounds, memory loss isn't anything new in kdramas and often I shudder when I hear the words amnesia being used to advance the plot, but the story is told in such a amusing, cleaver and sincere sort of way that you can't help but be hooked by it. However, I tried it out for Yoon Shi Yoon and it captivated me and amused me from the very first episode. The plot didn't sound like something I would really enjoy crime-thrillers aren’t often very high on my lists. Rewatch Value 7.0 Psychopath Diary was a drama I thought wasn't for me. On the day of his 7th crime, things go wrong and he loses his diary where he writes of all his daily life and detailed description of his murders. However, after one too many coincidences, she starts to suspect Dong Shik might be more involved in the case than she thought.ģ6-year-old Seo In Woo is a cold and meticulous psychopath. After a few run-ins with Dong Shik, she believes that he is an extremely kind man. With no clues to his true nature other than the diary, and his fragmented memory lining up with the diary entry, he begins to believe that he is in fact a psychopath serial killer.ģ0-year-old neighborhood police officer, Shim Bo Kyung is investigating a suspected serial homicide. He wakes up with amnesia with the psychopath's diary in his possession. While doing so, he unexpectedly stumbles across a murder scene, but gets into an accident while running from the murderer. After an incident, he becomes the scapegoat of his company, and so facing losing his job and his family turning their back on him, he decides to commit suicide. Yook Dong Shik is a 34-year-old office worker who is so weak and timid that he is used by everybody around him. This might sound contradictory to Reason #1, but it’s not – try it out and you’ll see. The analysis is usually pretty right on – if not, it’s actually effortless to modify the markers or do it in real time. When loading a track into the deck, the software engine automatically places markers in front of the peaks. (Editor’s notes, Traktor’s Auto gridding functions perform equally well although it takes longer to analyze each track) Can you imagine getting a track and being able to use it moments after putting it on your laptop? It makes DJing fun again, you can throw down a set easily, test out new material, and avoid carpal tunnel by not having to do all the tedious prep that many of the other applications require. The downside of Traktor however is Beat Gridding, which is only slightly less tedious than Ableton Warping. After more research I came across Deckadance, an often-overlooked DJ application for Mac and PC from Image Line (the makers of FL Studio)In this article we will look at the strengths and weakness of this program and see how far its come in 3 years of development. Even on a small scale Ableton is limited as a DJ tool because it lacks cue points, decodes all MP3s into WAV files, and requires a lot of tedious warping.Īfter reading up about alternatives on, I decided on Traktor because it sounds great, has awesome effects and integrates perfectly with the X1. As a long time music producer who began looking at alternatives to Ableton for digital DJing, I came across about 6 months ago and instantly became a fan. While Ableton is great for many reasons, you will definitely felt it’s limitations after building a dj set with over 300 tracks. Units may even have specialized abilities, such as the ability to become invisible to other units, usually balanced with abilities that detect otherwise invisible things. Units can typically move, attack, stop, hold a position, although other strategy games offer more complex orders. Keyboard shortcuts become important for advanced players, as speed is often an important factor. The player commands their forces by selecting a unit, usually by clicking it with the mouse, and issuing an order from a menu. Many games, for example Globulation 2, include other challenges such as building construction. Strategy games give players indirect control over many units in a battlefield. Īlthough strategy games are similar to role-playing video games in that the player must manage units with a variety of numeric attributes, RPGs tend to be about a smaller number of unique characters, while strategy games focus on larger numbers of fairly similar units. Nevertheless, some authors consider construction and management simulation games, in particular city-building games, as a part of the wider strategy game genre. These games may incorporate some amount of conflict, but are different from strategy games because they do not emphasize the need for direct action upon an opponent. Strategy games are also distinct from construction and management simulations, which include economic challenges without any fighting. A strategy game calls for planning around a conflict between players, whereas puzzle games call for planning in isolation. Īlthough strategy games involve strategic, tactical, and sometimes logistical challenges, they are distinct from puzzle games. Each side generally has access to similar resources and actions, with the strengths and weaknesses of each side being generally balanced. Compared to other genres such as action or adventure games where one player takes on many enemies, strategy games usually involve some level of symmetry between sides. Strategy games rarely involve a physical challenge, and tend to annoy strategically minded players when they do. A strategy game is typically larger in scope, and their main emphasis is on the player's ability to outthink their opponent. Relationship to other genres Įven though there are many action games that involve strategic thinking, they are seldom classified as strategy games. In addition to combat, these games often challenge the player's ability to explore or manage an economy. Thus, most strategy games involve elements of warfare to varying degrees, and feature a combination of tactical and strategic considerations. In most strategy video games, the player is given a godlike view of the game world, and indirectly controls game units under their command. Victory is achieved through superior planning, and the element of chance takes a smaller role. They are also usually divided into two main sub-categories: turn-based and real-time, but there are also many strategy cross/sub-genres that feature additional elements such as tactics, diplomacy, economics and exploration.Ī player must plan a series of actions against one or more opponents, and the reduction of enemy forces is usually a goal. Although many types of video games can contain strategic elements, as a genre, strategy games are most commonly defined as those with a primary focus on high-level strategy, logistics and resource management. However, IBM is the one who gave computers their present shape, using, at the beginning of the 1980s, an idea of open architecture – which is today one of the most important differences between computers and consoles. The foundations of PC as a gaming platform are currently systems of digital distribution of video games (Steam, Origin, Uplay) and MMO games that mostly work in f2p (free-to-play) model.Strategy is a major video game genre that emphasizes thinking and planning over direct instant action in order to achieve victory. But, with so many new photo editors on the market, we wondered if the old standard was still the best. Most photographers have simply turned to Photoshop by default since it has been the industry standard program for editing photos for decades. Things to consider when shopping for photo editing software If you’re serious about being a professional photographer, you need to edit your photos. In fact, technically, they are letting their camera do the editing for them by accepting its default RAW to JPG conversion. They will rely only on the image they get from their camera. Occasionally a photographer will say that editing is “cheating” and will refuse to do it. The amount of editing a photographer does to an image may vary, but the reason is always the same - to make the photo the best it can be. Editing could be as simple as correcting and enhancing color, cropping, and removing blemishes to completely replacing a sky or swapping someone’s head in a group shot because they were the one person who didn’t smile. The amount of editing they do will vary greatly from one person to the next, depending on their style, genre, preference, skill level, and client’s needs. Yes, nearly ALL pro photographers edit, or post-process, their images. In this age of Snapchat filters and chronic smartphone overedited selfies, it’s easy to understand why a lot of people confuse that sort of editing with the post-processing that professional photographers do.
